Mandalas for Marinke – Part II

Hi there!

So I’ve been missing from my blog for a while, but I’m back again. It’s getting to that time of the uni semester when everything starts piling up. Thankfully we’ll be getting a break after next week.

This post is my second on Mandalas for Marinke. Marinke was a crocheter who took her own life as a result of depression, and Mandalas for Marinke is a project that has been set up to raise awareness of the mental illness. (This is my first post.)

Here is my mandala:

The pattern of the above mandala was created by Marinke. It is absolutely gorgeous. Have a look at her other designs and you’ll see what I mean. Hers is predominantly blue, but I decided I’d create a colourful one as a celebration of Marinke’s work.

If you’re interested in contributing to this project, crochet a mandala (or two, or more!) and send it to Kathryn Vercillo of Crochet Concupiscence by 15 Oct 2015. Full details on her website.

Hope all of you will have a great weekend, and thanks for reading.

Update: please see my third post on Mandalas for Marinke to get the link to my feature on Crochet Concupiscence.
